Hi guys! So, this past week, I was finally fed up with looking at this empty built in that is in our dining room. It’s an original built in from 1954 and as cool as it is with it’s 4 shelf storage, it’s so shallow that you can barely fit a tiny air plant on it. So we could either a) make the most of it and decorate it or b) rip it out and fill in the wall. Well, the (b) option just isn’t in our budget right now, so option (a) of decorating will have to do for now.
I wanted to bring in some more plants mixed in with other eclectic items I had lying around the house. I also wanted to feature this porcelain canister I brought with me from my hometown of Boiling Springs, PA. Let’s take a look at the progression.
This area is super cute now and I love the little message being held up with a set of Black and White Dinosaur Salt and Pepper Shakers (these came from Urban Outfitters which are no longer available so sorry to tease you with these.) I am also super smitten with our new ceramic bud vase and succulents infusing our home. The white wave speaker is our awesome Jawbone BIG JAMBOX Wireless Bluetooth Speaker that has a sound like no other! There you have it! Do you have a built in at your home? How did you make it work for you?
Fantastic post!!!! I am absolutely in love with it… I hv to add layers to my chalkboard walled living room as well.. N the first thing on my list is succulent n color block vases…
Thank you so much for your sweet words! Succulents make the world a better place :) I can’t wait to see what you do to transform your space!
